The Anglican Communion in Eleme community has given the federal government 48 hours to produce the kidnapped Anglican Archbishop, Ignatius Kattey. The bishop wasby unknown gunmen on Friday around Eleme area of Rivers State. Spokesman of the Anglican Fellowship, Oluka Alale Gike, told Nepicity.blogspot.com Correspondent, during a heavy protest this morning that blocked parts of the Refinery road in Eleme, that they will destroy bridges and roads leading to the community if the Bishop is not released after 48 hours. They also vowed not to pay any ransom.
Some members of Eleme community also joined in the protest which caused heavy traffic in that area. The Eleme youth president, Isaac lale Obe said the community will join the church members in any step to ensure the bishop is released. Archbishop Kattey is the second in command to the Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh. The Police spokesperson in Rivers state, Angela Agabe, says the kidnappers have not asked for any ransom so far. Our Correspondent reports that the protesters moved from Eleme petro chemical junction to refinery junction.
